Remove any tough outer layers of the Brussels sprouts: this will vary based on the quality of the sprouts.

Step 2

How to shred Brussels sprouts: Slice in half lengthwise

With a large Chef’s knife, slice the Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.

Step 3

How to shred Brussels sprouts: Cut into thin shreds

Place the cut side down and thinly slice the sprout cross-wise, making thin shreds.

Step 4

How to shred Brussels sprouts: loosen the pieces

Loosen the pieces with your fingers. Discard the root end. That’s it!
